Maven

Briefing

Maven is an exhibition within the Smithsonian Air space museum. In the year 2022, Space X has goals to send to its first cargo mission to Mars. Maven the Mars Experience gives the audience a chance to live the journey to Mars through VR. Their mission will include gathering resources, building a house and experience everyday life before taking a trip into the museum to learn more about the rocket SpaceX is planning on using as well as the types of houses someone would live in.

Process

The creation of the museum was made in SketchUp with a 1 to 1 ratio. Designs were made for a ticket, a poster and locations of where they would be hanging. This process took a long time, but the outcome is beautiful and could not of done it without my partner, Josh Hanson, check him out www.joshuatdesign.com

SketchUp

Maven the Mars Experience museum was created in sketchup and rendered out. Each part of the exhibition is broken up into sections. We kept with a modern style look and kept with the Maven brand standards of colors and logo use. We wanted the vistors to be fully immersed in the experience.

Ready for Takeoff

The Take off room is where The crew members start their journey to Mars with our state of the art VR headsets. Once inside the VR Transportation Capsule, the crew will buckle themselves in to their seats and await takeoff. Once all engines ignite, the crew members motorized chair starts to shake and recline until they have left earths atmosphere to give the most realistic experience possible.

Exploring Mars

Once the crew has landed safely on Mars, their seats will unlock and they will be free to explore the red planet. They will exit the VR Transportation Capsule and go “outside” to help with the excavation and mining duties. Is the VR Exploration Room, they will have free time to explore the Mar’s settlement for approximately twenty minutes. Through the use of augmented and virtual reality, the crew can not only interact with their fellow crew members, but the surrounding environment.

the Hub

After you have finished exploring the Mars landscape, the crew then retreats in the to main “hub” of the Mars colony. Here, the crew can have a closer look at the suits they were wearing outside, take a look a the Mars sphere to see how they contributed to the development of the planet while outside, and view the life size typical living quarters they would be staying in while living on Mars.
